2007 was our best year here at Peace Together. We made it to a record number of events where we promoted peace and sold our peace t-shirts and our other products. Our donations to people working to make the world a better place was a record as well! We even surprised ourselves when we compiled the information. We are very excited about our giving as we both found out how much fun it is to give to support programs and individuals doing work that matters.
We now have plans to be even more generous in our giving in 2008 and we will tell you more as we map out our goals.
Here is what we have been able to give in 2007:
We gave t-shirts for a silent auction in support of the Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Association. www.sustainablelivingassociation.org
We painted a flower pot and gave t-shirts & decals for an auction to support EarthLinks. This program reaches out to the disadvantaged in Denver through a gardening program. www.earthlinks-colorado.org/
We gave more shirts and 100 decals to a program in Toronto that was providing housing and counseling for women and children who have been in abusive situations.
We gave 4 shirts to Kids Can Free The Children which is a program that helps children in various countries in Africa get education, leadership training and other opportunities to better their lives.
We gave money to John Sherman, a wonderful teacher of self-inquiry who quietly teaches around the country helping people be more conscious human beings. www.riverganga.org/
We give monthly to the Pachamama Alliance in support of their work to save the environment by preserving the rain forests of Ecuador. www.pachamama.org/
We gave money to the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center. www.rmpjc.org/
We gave money to the Nederland Community Center here in Colorado to support the renovation of their community center.
We gave money to Namaste Comfort Care Center for people who can't afford hospice. www.namastehospice.com/
We gave money to Bonnie Webber (Bobbi's sister) to buy supplies for a medical mission to Africa. |
